American Bulldog - Chessie/need Rescue - Large - Young - Female
2 yr old large mixed breed . She came in pregnant and had her pups back in Jan 2011 . Her pups have long since been adopted but she needs a home . She was a good mom and is good with anyone that takes her out . She is strong on a leash . She is ok with other friendly dogs but can not be trusted with cats and rabbits, etc. For being at the shelter so long, she is calm and quiet in her kennel , of course she gets excited when taken out but you would too if you were locked up so long ? We hope someone will open their hearts and home to her soon ! UPDATE 1/7/12 Chessie was adopted but returned 5 days later . She has been in the shelter so long that she needs a person with dog training skills to be able to make her a good pet or needs a rescue to take her . She apparently has a dominant nature and needs positive reinforcement training and housetraining .
